Birmingham Fixed Gear

It’s not about the bike; it’s about the ride.

Post-Critical Mass ride?

with 4 comments

Critical mass is this Friday (6th June)… Generally starts at 6pm and finishes about 30mins – 1 hour after that… Anyone fancy a faster, longer ride after that?

  2. thats the problem, critical mass doesnt have a website, which is a shame. i would start one myself but i’m not into critical mass at all. it is totally counterproductive. cycling as slow as you possibly can and blocking 2 lanes of traffic with just 12 bikes is not going to do anything positive for cycling at all. anyway it normally starts at six, at st phillips cathedral, but every time ive turned up at 6 no-one’s been there, so i went home. only to find out that loads of people showed up later…

  3. I haven’t been to CM before-told it wasn’t that great. If there’s some fixed gear action afterwards i’ll come. Where is it to start?

  4. i’m up for that. i don’t finish work til 6, but hopefully i’ll be able to make it if the less-than-punctilious stereotypes of critical-massers are true. if it’s a set route i can intercept them anyway… any idea where to go? maybe a pub stop?
