Birmingham Fixed Gear

It’s not about the bike; it’s about the ride.

Manchester alleycat on Friday 1st August – anyone fancy it?

with 4 comments

Jason Cattermole has space for three people to stay at his house, so if anyone fancies coming to the alleycat on Friday in Manchester just let me know. I’ll be catching the 17:18 train from New Street hopefully.

  1. I dunno… I think there are a few fast people in Birmingham but …

    1) how many ride fixed…and

    2) how many of them would actually want to enter… and

    3) how many of them would actually pay to enter?!

I think firstly just to get people interested we need a simple ‘race’ on a Saturday afternoon/evening that is open to unfixed riders… no frills, just a prize for the winner, and no entry fee.

  2. are there even enough people in brum to have a proper alleycat race? i cant imagine many birmingham cyclists being willing or able to riding fast/far enough for anything resembling a ‘race’…

  4. When is there going to be a birmingham alleycat?
I’ve been doing some thinking and i think that the Rainbow in digbeth would be well up fo having an ‘alldayer’ with street racing, films/music and roller-racing if possible.
    Any takers?
