It’s not about the bike; it’s about the ride.

They don’t work, for various reasons.

I suggest a Sunday morning on the no.5 cycle route, North or South, I’m not fussed.

  1. Circus bikes are good for tricks, but no good for riding fast. Check this video of Ines Brun (click here) giving it some.

  2. No… BMX bikes and skateparks are good for tricks. Track / fixed wheel bikes are good for riding fast on tracks and roads, absolutely rubbish for tricks.

Car parks are good for parking cars, and for young dossers and tramps to drink cider and perhaps inject heroin/smoke crack.

  4. The weather was great Saturday daytime, but any time the sun comes out I have to take that opportunity to do laundry. Plus I felt rough as fuck, because I went a bit too hard at work, and I drank 2 glasses of red wine the night before. I went for a recovery ride later and my head and legs felt 100% better. Then I went for a drink and a curry and some more drinks with my girlfriend and her parents. I feel bad again :(

  6. Multi storey car parks are a bit shit for cycling, though, aren’t they.

They’re good for parking cars in though.

  7. looks like rain off, again!

Seems the weather holds out for most of the day recently, but later the darks clouds start to linger…

anyone want to set a time for a daytime ride, OR a ride everyone is ok with getting wet. Could just mess about in multi storey carparks or something if it gets too much.

  8. I would prefer countryside to be honest! Sometimes I can’t bring myself to ride my bike anywhere near town at the weekend, ’cause it’s too much like going to work!

  9. yeah, but sunday nights are the quietest time on the roads, which means we don’t have to make a mission to the countryside to ride without getting cut up by dickhead bus/taxi drivers. all you need is a few little lights…
